About artisan

Xiaokuan Bamboo Craft (小宽竹工) is a Chinese artisan known for his exceptional bamboo weaving skills. Born in the 1990s, he overcame a childhood injury to his right hand caused by hot water to pursue his love for handcrafted arts. Starting with creating bamboo stick models of ancient buildings in high school, he later apprenticed under the esteemed Zhejiang crafts master Hu Zhengren after graduating from university in 2015. With over a decade of experience in bamboo weaving, he founded his own studio in 2018, where he continues to innovate by blending traditional techniques with contemporary design. His work includes a diverse range of bamboo art and jewelry, showcasing the timeless beauty and versatility of bamboo craftsmanship.
